  • LIFT Top Picks 28/10/2016

    28th October 2016

When we’re not busy making the LIFT magic happen, we’re usually scrolling through our social feeds and nosing on everyone else’s latest work, so we thought we’d share some of our favourite posts from the last week.

Our friends at our old haunt, the ICA, are hosting a #CultureNow on the #BlackLivesMatter movement today which caught our eye when they posted this article on how institutionalised racism in US policing led to a global movement. It’s an extract from the book they’ll be discussing, Policing the Planet.

A fun one for a grey day! The moment Styx went from paper to concrete! #building a community!

Who doesn’t love a time lapse? Especially when it’s of the brilliant Tottenham venue STYX being built. We were there just a few weeks ago at our Artist Hangout and it’s come a long way since this film was made!

Installation made with @mil.clarke and Franks Peckham

On Wednesday, a few of us headed over to the official opening party of Somerset House Studios and stumbled upon Chloe Lamford‘s installation, we took a couple of pics ourselves but her snaps do it much more justice. Chloe was the set designer of The Hamilton Complex in #LIFT2016 and we’ve been fan girl/boying over her work ever since.

    The Hemsbach Protocol

Over in Frankfurt, LIFT friend and collaborator Darren O’ Donnell (Mammalian Diving Reflex) has been continuing the Hemsbach Protocol project that experiments with innovative methods of integrating refugees into local communities. We know Darren loves a group selfie so we’re we’re surprised to see this pic!
