    The Wooster Group

A rare opportunity to hear from artistic company The Wooster Group

Formed in New York in 1975, they have remained ceaselessly inventive in their many approaches to performance – mixing theatre, text, dance and media to often breath taking effect. The Wooster Group presented Brace Up! as part of LIFT in 1993 and have remained in our sights ever since. Their Hamlet (2007/2012) is a phenomenal remix of Shakespeare in which live performers mirror the movements and speech of a filmed 1964 production of the play starring Richard Burton. In this talk three of the key creative forces behind Hamlet, director Elizabeth LeCompte, and performers Scott Shepherd and Kate Valk, discuss their extraordinary and influential approach to theatre making.
