#LIFT2016 Opening Night - Taylor Mac

    Created by Taylor Mac

#LIFT2016 began in truly spectacular style with sequins and glitter galore in Taylor Mac’s dazzling ‘ritual-sacrifice’. Singer, searing social critic and performance artist extraordinaire, Judy enchanted the (participating) audience with his gorgeous voice, razor-sharp wit and extravagant generosity of spirit.
An outrageously entertaining romp through the American songbook of the 20th Century, punctuated by politically-knowing social commentary, Taylor brought together the audience as an ephemeral community making each one of them sparkle.

a dangerous blend of Bette Midler, Liza Minnelli, Lady Gaga and Boy George, a fiercely politicised, engaged and sometimes enraged social commentator, as well as a frequently thrilling song stylist
