It pushes us into a sensory space that stronger productions will never reach.
Zecura Ura & Para Active
The dark revenge myth of Medea was staged as an all night performance at LIFT’s old HQ at Trinity Buoy Wharf, thrust between the cruelty of the night and sobreity of the day.
A three part reinterpretation of the Greek story ‘Jason and the Golden Fleece’ took to the waters from North Greenwich pier. It was an all-night performance which kicked off with the story set to Brazilian DJ. Audiences stayed up all through the night for this interactive promenade production.
Hotel Medea has since gone on to win awards at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2011 and returned to London in 2012 at the Southbank Centre’s Hayward Gallery.
Hotel Medea defies categorization. The work incorporates performance art, dance, theatre and audience participation to create a bizarre and surreal journey.
