    A Christmas Memory

    Map

In the beautiful, intimate setting of King’s College London Chapel, LIFT presented a quite exceptional and unique reading from four of our country’s most brilliant actors as part of a unique fundraising event.

Truman Capote’s A Christmas Memory is the tender recollection of a short and innocent period in the life of the seven year old narrator and his older distant cousin and best friend in 1930s America. As Christmas approaches they embark on a ritual involving friendship, cake, country life and the joy of giving. A ritual soon to be lived only in memory. LIFT presents an intimate festive reading of this evocative story in the candlelit glory of the newly restored King’s College Chapel.

On 10th December the story was told by multi award-winning actress Dame Diana Rigg and Screen Actors Guild award winner and BAFTA and Emmy nominee Charles Dance (Game of Thrones, The Imitation Game) and on 11th December it was told by LIFT Patrons Mark Rylance and Juliet Stevenson.

How would Santa know where London is if we didn’t have LIFT? LIFT keeps English theatre artists and audiences connected to the world. The more we support LIFT the more wonderful theatre artists they can invite to London.
