Culture Recovery Fund
LIFT was thrilled to hear we have received funding thanks to the government’s #CultureRecoveryFund so that LIFT can continue to be here for you and #HereForCulture. Thank you to Arts Council England and DCMS the Government’s #CulturalRecoveryFund and all the people working behind the scenes making sure that the UK’s incredible cultural landscape is sustained.
Culture Recovery Funding will help LIFT move forward from the impact of the cancellation of our 2020 festival. It means LIFT will continue to be where audiences encounter incredible, unforgettable and exhilarating theatre by artists from here and around the world. The fund enables us to continue to collaborate and work with artists and freelancers, engage with communities and advance meaningful contemporary ideas and experiences.
LIFT’s Chair, Bernard Donoghue had this to say on behalf of LIFT: “All of us are delighted to receive this award and support from the Culture Recovery Fund. It is recognition of what we lost in cancelling this year’s festival, what we need to rebuild and recover, and what we require to build the foundations of an extraordinary festival in 2021. We are grateful to the UK Government, HM Treasury, DCMS and Arts Council England and, of course, to UK taxpayers for this investment and demonstration of faith in us.”
