Three new comedies inspired by stories from three of Newham’s vibrant communities.

O’Farrell’s Stage School presents the alternative history of Canning Town through East End fairy-tales, wordplay and the Canning Town CanCan!

George and Lenny are a pair of awkward lads whose friendship is threatened by a world of gangs, girls and dancing in Albanian group Shpresa’s comedy of growing pains and Pokemon.

A reunion of Dominican friends is the cue for traditional story-telling and dancing amid the occasional family row in DUKA’s bawdy comedy.

These groups have each chosen a story to tell – a story unique to their culture, rich in history and a celebration of who they are. Turning stories into performance, these three short shows form a one-hour comedy that celebrates our common humanity.
