Respond to Lift Festival 2008

The Lift Millipede is continuously listening, watching and recording.

A team of local people will be working collaboratively with artists They Are Here to create this organism. Their role is to capture responses to Lift Festival 2008 Stratford from audiences, artists and passers-by through sound, video, photography, text messaging, live performance, surveillance technology, forensic techniques and writing. The result… a thousand works of art from a thousand perspectives.

You might not know where the Millipede is – but it will be all around you. Look out for the Millipede's nest near The Lift and leaves us a morsel of memory. Alternatively, interact with the Millipede via our blog. You can also contribute by sending images and thoughts to themillipede@live.com.

These multiple viewpoints will be drawn together to create an event on 4 July at Lift Festival 2008 Southbank Centre. 999 artworks will be presented - piece 1000 will be made live with you, the audience.
