LIFT has long been dedicated to transforming the forgotten corners of the city into fantastical places, as well as unearthing art that flourishes between the gaps. Both of these concepts will come together for Dilston Grove, a site-specific installation at the deconsecrated Clare College Mission Church in Southwark. Over the course of two weeks, artists Heather Ackroyd and Dan Harvey will be covering the walls of the church with living grass, using the church’s unique architectural qualities to breathe life directly back into the space. Soundtracked by a new piece from sound installation artist Graeme Miller, Dilston Grove is a thought-provoking and visually-stunning meditation on natural cycles of rebirth and religious ideas of resurrection.
