The voices of the ordinary people of Palestine are often lost beneath the newspaper headlines, TV reports and political rhetoric thundering out of the Occupied Territories. This is a situation that the artists commissioned by George Ibrahim of the Al-Kasaba Theatre in Ramallah have sought to redress in Alive From Palestine.

This collection of stories illuminates the everyday existences of people leading their lives under a cloud of violence, including a couple engaged with shrapnel as a ring, an aspiring film star and an angry poet. Emerging from a pile of newsprint as part of a parade of the exiled and dispossessed, the characters come from as diverse a range of backgrounds and experiences as the artists that created them. Yet all are interlinked not only by historical and geopolitical events but also by an indomitable strength of spirit even as their world seems to fall apart. Performed in Arabic with English surtitles.
