LIFT has a long history of fabulous placements who are an inspiring and talented bunch. One of our current Producing placements Camila Ymay González Ortiz reflects about her experience of LIFT so far:

‘As a Producing Placement I have had the opportunity to familiarise myself with the whole process of bringing international artists to a festival, including how to build budgets, look for potential venues, or any other technical needs demanded by the company, so we can produce the best show possible. I’m also learning fundamental skills about programming, marketing, public relations and others areas which are key to organising any cultural event. But, without any doubt, one of the best qualities of LIFT is its humble and enthusiastic staff. No matter what your role is, everybody’s opinion or suggestion is listened to and taken into consideration, and you always feel free to ask any questions, because they know that you are also learning. It has been an amazing ride and I feel very grateful for the opportunity to learn from them and contribute to improve London’s cultural life with what we all love: A little bit of original, relevant and amazing theatre!’

LIFT regularly host short term placements to assist the team on specific projects related to our work and currently the focus is firmly on delivering LIFT 2012 next summer. As part of our small and creative team you would play a key role in helping and in turn delivering our ambitious Festival.  We also want to make sure that you leave with a wide range of work related experience to help you secure that paid job. Even as you prepare to leave your placement and also after you have left we will give you interview advice, CV feedback, make introductions to people in the sector for you and pass on details about any jobs we know of and provide references.

So we are now recruiting for placements from January – March 2012 (3 days a week from 10 January) in the roles of Development, Digital, Executive, Marketing, Participation and Producing so if you’re interested please download an application pack here for all the details or pass it on to others who might want to join the team. The deadline is Monday 5th December 2011 at 10am.

In the new year we will be recruiting for people to do a five month placement with us over the festival from April to August 2012 so keep checking these newsletters to stay informed or join us on Twitter
