Behind the scenes with LIFT
With the launch of the LIFT 2010 festival programme fast approaching it’s been a busy few days at LIFT, and here in marketing team we’ve been out and about across the city, with the help of Them Design, to capture some of London’s most recognisable theatre locations in the run-up to this year’s festival.
On Monday afternoon we found ourselves huddled on a somewhat blustery rooftop terrace at the National Theatre to film an introduction to our new programme with our Artistic Director, Mark Ball. Obviously the contents of this is top secret for the moment, but here are some images to give you a taster! I can, however, reveal that Mark was admirably composed considering the howling winds, bitter cold and passing tour groups...
From the National, it was straight across town to the Barbican where the second in a series of special LIFT photoshoots was to take place. Observed by residents in the flats around us, we drew some curious looks with our equipment, lighting, and special yellow sweatshirts. (More about these later!) While the weather conditions initially caused some consternation, the shoot went off without a hitch and you’ll be able to see the results of both of these projects here on the LIFT website from 26th March.

"Just received my lift mailing. Some questions - has the LIFT parliament been disappeared as an expensive folly ? Why a mail out which contains little but an expensive piece of folded print ? Why pictures of the national theatre ?"

"It is well known that money makes us disembarrass. But how to act if one does not have cash? The one way only is to receive the credit loans or just collateral loan."
